Welcome to The Ivy Vine Preschool

The mission of The Ivy Vine Preschool is to provide an environment for young children to thrive spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, socially and physically while learning about Jesus and preparing for kindergarten.

Our preschool program is designed for children between the ages of 18 months and 4 years old. Our programs are currently part-time programs and are available Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with extended care options from 2:00-3:30 p.m. daily. The 2020/2021 school year starts on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and will end on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum we use is a flexible and integrated curriculum written by Teaching Strategies that balances academic learning with play; both essential elements of healthy childhood development. More details about Teaching Strategies can be learned from visiting www.teachingstrategies.com. In addition to Teaching Strategies, we use the Abeka Bible curriculum. As part of our Bible studies we have many activities and experiences planned (including weekly chapel) to introduce young children to the blessings we receive from God and how to be a good servant with those resources.

Available Programs

Toddlers (18-23 months)

Programs 2, 3, or 4 days/week from 8:30am -2:00pm. Children at this age learn through actively exploring their environment. They enjoy practicing their emerging physical, language and social skills through play. Our toddler classroom has been designed to facilitate safe play and exploration in a positive, caring environment that supports faith-based values. To enhance our toddler classroom experiences, Ivy Vine Preschool has chosen the Creative Curriculum for toddlers by Teaching Strategies.

Two-Year Olds

Programs 2, 3 or 4 days/week from 8:30am -2:00pm. As the physical, language and social skills of two-year-old children increase, so does their curiosity and desire to explore. Our twos classroom has been designed to facilitate curiosity and encourage exploration in a positive, caring, and safe environment that supports faith-based values. To enhance our two-year-old classroom experiences, Ivy Vine Preschool has chosen the Creative Curriculum for 2s by Teaching Strategies.

Three-Year Olds

Programs 2, 3, or 4 days/week from 8:30am -2:00pm. Three-year-old children greatly benefit physically and cognitively from various forms of play. Like running, jumping and climbing builds muscular coordination, pretend play builds social and emotional skills. In addition, exploring art, books, and nature enhances cognitive development. Through our classroom design and curricular structure, we encourage children in our three-year-old class to explore and play while guiding them in a positive and safe environment that supports faith-based values. To enhance our three-year-old classroom experiences, Ivy Vine Preschool has chosen the Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers by Teaching Strategies.

Pre-Kindergarten

Programs 3 or 4 days/week from 8:30am -2:00pm. Pre-kindergarten four-year-old children need to master play to be ready, developmentally speaking, for kindergarten. While their activities can be classified as play, play is serious work. Dramatic play with others teaches social-emotional regulation and begins to form self-identity; constructive play allows for expressing creativity while learning about math and science concepts, physical play continues to build muscular coordination; exploring culture and science through books, projects, art and music encourages cognitive development. Recognizing all of these experiences are valuable, we have designed the Pre-K classroom to facilitate play and exploration in a manner conducive to kindergarten readiness. Ivy Vine Preschool has chosen the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies as the framework for designing the curriculum for the Pre-Kindergarten class.
